PAB is tasked with eradicating poverty in Imo State through various social intervention programmes, and we need your support to build resilience against poverty, providing empowerment programs for youth, women and vulnerable groups in the society.

The Skill-Up Imo Programme is a free and comprehensive youth empowerment initiative launched by the Imo State Government to combat unemployment, and boost digital literacy.

Imo State, where the majority of households rely on small-scale trading and agriculture, is witnessing a major shift in the way women contribute to their families and communities thanks to the empowerment initiatives led by the First Lady, Mrs. Chioma Uzodimma.
The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has highlighted the significant impact digital skills can have on employment in developing countries like Nigeria, where digital job opportunities are expected to grow substantially. According to the report, by 2030, nearly 230 million jobs across sub-Saharan Africa will require digital skills.
In 2018, Imo State ranked 22nd out of Nigeria’s 36 states, with 19.3% of Imo citizens living on less than $2.15 a day. Unfortunately, this statistic has grown over the years, according to the World Bank’s international poverty data. Recognizing this urgent situation, the current Imo State administration, led by Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, has taken decisive steps to address it.
